Holiday Decorating Guidelines

Traditional holiday decorations and decorative lights may be displayed for one month prior to and one month after any commonly recognized holiday for which such lights are traditionally displayed.

 

Decorations must obey the City of Henderson’s noise nuisance policy. 

It shall be unlawful to cause, create, or permit any loud, raucous, and disturbing noise (which is defined as any sound which annoys, disturbs, injures, or endangers the comfort, health, peace, or safety of reasonable persons of ordinary sensibilities).

The below include the following acts in violation of the City of Henderson’s noise nuisance policy:

The use of any drum, loudspeaker, or other instrument or device for the purpose of attracting attention by the creation of any noise to any performance or show
The playing of any radio, television, stereo, musical instrument, loudspeaker, amplifier, PA system, or any similar devices in such a manner or with such volume, particularly between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on weekdays, and 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. on weekends and holidays, as to annoy or disturb the quiet, comfort or repose of any person in any dwelling, hotel or other type of residence.

 

The Tuscany Programs & Events Committee will be hosting its annual Holiday Decorating Contest.

Registration will be open from December 2nd – December 8th.

 

Tuscany residents are encouraged to decorate their houses and yards with lights, scenery and other

decorative ornaments in celebration of the holiday spirit.

 

A link to register for the contest will be provided in the next couple of weeks. 
 
Participation is open to all Tuscany residents in-good-standing, and will be judged based on "curb appeal" as viewed from
the street.
 

(a) Originality, unique design and creative use of lights and decorations;

(b) Storyline or theme;

(c) Arrangement, display and placement of decorations, animated

objects, etc.; and

(d) Overall presentation...so be creative, be festive, and have fun!!!

Judging for the contest will be held via online voting. Watch for Tuscany Eblasts for voting information. 
Winners will be announced no later than Monday, December 16th.

 

Prizes will be given out for 1st = $75, 2nd = $50, and 3rd = $25 place winners.

Additional Information About General Lawn Decorations

As a reminder, all home improvements require an ARC application and approval from the Board of Directors. This includes gate screening, signage, paint color change, flag pole installation, benches, flower pots, plants, and yard ornaments big or small. All types of yard ornaments must have an approved application. Any improvements done without approval is considered a violation of the CC&Rs and will be documented.
